Went here for the first time for my birthday dinner. The food was fantastic! Had baked stuffed haddock. Came with sautéed veggies and rice. The haddock was made with scallops and a crabmeat stuffing, topped with white sauce. Topped it off with a strawberry shortcake for dessert. Will definitely keep this place on my go to list!

What an amazing surprise! Stopped in on a whim based on reviews. They DID NOT disappoint. The food was well prepared with great flavors. Portions were large and exceedingly satisfying. We were waited on by the chef as it was mid afternoon. We started with a bowl of spicy brisket soup, crab dip and sweet chili chicken wings. All of these were great. Next I had the seafood pasta, my wife had orange ginger halibut with risotto and vegetable medley as a special. Each bite was full of flavors layered expertly by the chef. Others in our party had the seafood crepes. Full flavored, hot and fulfilling. Not that there was room, but we split the Maple pecan pie, and the other couple split the local, wild blueberry cheesecake. Let's just say, we didn't take a doggie bag! Plates were licked (or would have been if it wouldn't have been uncouth). If you are headed up or down highway 9, don't overlook this unassuming gem of fine dining!

My 1st time there and absolutely amazing! I have never eaten a meal where I felt so happy after and i actually ate all of it. Great service, top quality food at a price to steal. Definitely will go again and again.

The Nook & Cranny on Route 9 in Baileyville is the first stop in my new quest to find great places to eat and/or hang out, and what a cool place it is! The 5-cheese burger was most excellent, too. This spot is quite deceiving from the road; it's like a 3-in-1 deal. There's a very respectful, family-type restaurant area. Then, you can go through a door and enter a hip bar with a distinctly rural Maine vibe (I know, it sounds weird, but it absolutely works!). Lastly, there's a game-type room that also doubles as a music venue. This hidden gem has a rich history, once even housed in a former chicken coop, and is now known for its diverse menu and welcoming atmosphere. The chef emphasizes fresh, local ingredients from Maine's farmers and fishermen. They offer a variety of dishes, including Greek, Italian, French, Chinese, and traditional American favorites. Their seafood chowder, in particular, has garnered acclaim for its rich flavors and generous portions of fresh seafood. In 2019, they even added the area's only bar, constructed by local craftspeople using local wood, further enhancing the spot's charm. So far, I'm very impressed, and this review is just getting started. I'll update again, maybe the next time the place is hopping with a great musical act. #nookandcranny #BaileyvilleMaine #MaineEats

This restaurant is casual yet elegant. The tables are well laid out and the soft music in the background is nice. We came here today for my birthday. I ordered the seafood crepes but was told they did not have enough scallops, but I could have one crepe with scallops and shrimps, and the other crepe with shrimps and haddock. I had no problem with that and both crepes were delicious. The crepes came with house salad which was fresh. My husband ordered the baked stuffed haddock which he absolutely enjoyed. I am pleased to have chosen this restaurant for my birthday dinner.
